Hey there!

My name is Kaia Kirkham Macias, a cartoonist and animator based in Austin, Texas.

I have always had a passion for illustration and comics, winning awards with my high school newspaper comic strip, Fish, then going on to create cartoons and illustrate editorials for the University of Texas at Tyler’s Talon newspaper. Following this, in 2022, I was given the opportunity to work for the Austin Independent School District, where I created graphic materials for a proposed Bond. Since then, I have been attending the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, studying illustration and animation. I enjoy creating narratives and entertainment through my work, and greatly enjoy having any chances to collaborate in the creative process. I have a love for newspaper comics like Get Fuzzy and The Far Side, cartoons like Scooby Doo and Gravity Falls, and graphic novels like Bone and Amulet; all of which heavily influenced my interest in illustrated and animated storytelling.
